Edward J. "Ted" Little Jr. was born in Or. on June 30, 1924 and enlisted in the Army on July 24, 1943 at Portland, Or. At the time of his enlistment, he was unmarried, had completed four years of high school, and working as a traffic man on the railroad. Little joined the 10th Mountain Division at Camp Hale, Colo. where he was assigned to Company E of the 85th Infantry.
